Twas the month before Christmas
When all through our land,
Not a Christian was praying
Nor taking a stand.
See the PC Police had taken away
The reason for Christmas - no one could say.
The children were told by their schools not to sing
About Shepherds and Wise Men and…
I really try to stay away from reblogging shit that irks me, why give it any more “publicity”…but this is the most asinine, smug, whiny, weepy piece of bullshit that I’ve seen in a while. Christmas is alive and well all across this country.
The majority ( about 76%) of the American population identifies themselves as ” Christian”. From August through December most retail stores hit shoppers with an onslaught of Christmas “necessities”, usually bypassing other more subdued “holidays”. Have you ever seen a Ramadan display at your local Target? Walmart? Sears? Macys? How about a Kwanza aisle? Yeah didn’t think so you ignorant dipshit, and I bet you have your shit stained panties all in a bunch because the kosher aisle at the super market is a little too full this time of year.
You want your kid to pray and prance around a nativity scene, send him to a goddamn private school. It would actually be doing a favor to the rest of us “heathens.”
I can’t even turn a radio on after Thanksgiving, or watch TV without hearing Christmas carols and being reminded to tune in at 8 for some wholesome hallmark Christmas program. No one is taking Christ out of Christmas, and no one is saying you can’t celebrate the birth of your magic baby turned zombie. You can do that ‘till your Grinch sized heart is content, but don’t expect me ( and the appalling 24% of the population) to join you.
Now that I’ve gotten that off my chest, I will say again that this is my favorite time of year. Not because I’m reminded of the birth of some martyr who came to save me because I am the scum of the Earth, but because in my opinion life is just so much more cozier this time of year. It gives me a million and one excuses to have my friends and family close to me, which is what I live for. It reminds me of just how diverse and beautiful this place can be through all walks of life. I celebrate Christmas because it’s what I was raised to do, but the meaning has changed for the better as I’ve gotten older.
Happy Holidays Motherfuckers!
